"When I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature. If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of myself in the world, I would do that again by reading, just as I did when I was young."

Where the Deer and the Antelope Play By Nick Offerman

Truth be told I have been picking up and putting down this book since 2021. It is a great read, I am sure I would have finished swiftly if I hadn’t be so preoccupied with my new found love of fiction. This book has helped me look at a variety of topics (our relationship nature, structures of the US, humanity and masculinity) in a new way. Nick Offerman uses his unique voice and humor to tackle large topics while taking you on a journey on a series of hikes and trips across the country. I can’t wait to fishing this!

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Mass

My addition to Sarah J Maas happened last November when I decided to crack open ACOTAR (A Court of Thrones and Roses) after hearing WAY too much about it on Tik Tok. I am now officially addicted. Never would I have imagined myself fully immersed in fantasy, but here we are. All the said Tower of Dawn is HARD to get through while being left on the cliff hanger that is Queen of Storms. If I could do it all over again I would reverse the order of these two books. However, I shall persist… Slowly.

The Gene Keys by Richard Rudd

This behemoth of a book is a deeper dive into the “Gifts'“ of Human Design. The Gene Keys is a deeply spiritual and contemplative book design to expand human consciousness (not for everyone). I’m working through all of my Gifts aligned with Richard Rudd’s Shadow, Gifts & Sihhid to really dive into and reflect on my own Human Design and Gene Keys. A task I will take on Gift and Day at a time

Spiritual Books

  • Undoubtedly inspired by Oprah, this was the first spiritual text I really connected with, and I still refer back to it at least once a year. This book launched my spiritual awakening. It is a great tool to help recognize where ego and past pain are blocking you from the present moment, which is the key to consciousness. If you are in search of a text that will help you better understand the world we live in and help you find more peace and presence in your life, this is the one for you.

  • This book is another one that has tangible tools to utilize; I also recommend the audiobook for this so you can practice the techniques while listening. This book helps you identify the difference between your "Self" and your "Soul," the highest version of your being. This is great for someone who wants to learn practices that elevate their consciousness and connect you with your soul's mission.

  • This is a great read if you are not a big reader. The spiritual concepts are written through the lens of a storybook. It’s short and sweet but packs a punch. This book helps you look at your everyday life and analyze why we are here. It opens a door for you to explore your personal mission on this planet and leaves you feeling more connected.

  • I was gifted this book, and I am so grateful for that. Its Toltec teachings hold deep wisdom. I would recommend this book to someone who has a more "realist" view of the world. This book gives you practical tools to use in your everyday life. These agreements: Be Impeccable With Your Word, Don’t Take Anything Personally, Don’t Make Assumptions, and Always Do Your Best are goals that everyone can reach.

  • This book not only holds deep spiritual knowledge but also tools and meditations for you to try out along the way. This is great for someone looking for tangible tools to use in everyday life. It provides you with breathing techniques, meditations, and journaling prompts that help you feel more connected to yourself and the world around you. Even though I'm partial to a physical book, I recommend getting the audiobook; that way, you can listen to meditations and other techniques in real-time.
